Hello folks, this is probably out of the BHW topics.

Anywho, I'm planning to get my very frist tattoo and would like to know how it was your experience getting your 1st tattoo if you had one,
(Did it hurts, what placement did you chose...)

A bunch, but don't want to describe them on a public forum tbh.

Go with things that are meaningful. It's nice to have reminders of good lessons you've learned or reminders to avoid certain mistakes.
 
It does not hurt if you put it on your upper arm or it did not for me.

As to inspiration make it count as it is probably going to be on there for a long time.

I have a Mariner's Cross and got it in memory of one of my brothers who was a boat captain and dive master who passed away when he was 36.

Don't get a tattoo just to get a tattoo. It really should not work like that.
 
I got my first when I was 17. A friend at work did tattoos at rock fests and asked if I wanted one. It didn't hurt on arm, but some of the sensitive places do hurt I found out later..

The only thing that sometimes annoys me is that most are tribals. Wouldn't do that now, but times and people change. Not much worth in crying about it at this point.
 
This is the only one I'll share because I mostly wear long sleeve shirts, and it's my favorite one (and first one I got).

I have 2 wings on the upper back and in the middle is the year when my mom passed away, is not the best tattoo as I made it 12-14 years ago, but I am very proud of it. I plan to make also in a few weeks a second, some numbers, and a binary code.

It hurts on the ribs, knees, hands (DYOR) internet is full of it. Everyone feels pain differently. There are also some solutions if you make big ones, a pain killer cream.

aaaaaaaaaaand, don't drink at all before and after for days, otherwise, you will bleed and the color will not stick to your skin, use Bepanthen after. Anyway, if you do it on a proper tattoo artist and not on SEOClerks of tattoos, he will explain to you what you need to know, mostly, tattoo artists are one of the most friendly people in the world, no clue why.

Good luck, do something you will never regret, I hope you will not make a fucking demon or samurai lol just for the sake of "having a tattoo". :D
 
I never understood people who say all tattoos got to have a significance, I think one can have tattoos for aesthetics/art reasons.
I don't have any but I do plan on getting tatted soon.

I guess it's from times it was rarer to have tattoos. When I think back in time I got a few bad glances now and then. People assume it's supposed to mean something when someone does something permanent to their skin or something.

Thanks mate, I'm really proud of my Ryan Gosling spider.. it turned out exactly like I wanted it to. I went to one of the best tattoo artists in the world, and I don't think a normal tattoo artist could have gotten that masterpiece right.

Have never seen a 9/11 tattoo - is that yours man?

Yes, my thoughts exactly. If you want to do a masterpiece like that you have to visit "the man"

I feel like tattoos perspective have changed through generations. I'm 20 years old, my parents would say that tattoos without significance are stupid. On the other hand my mates would disagree and say that getting tattoos for aesthetics is great. Younger people's perception seems to be that tattoos look good and can make someone more attractive, especially with the rise of many tattoo artists creating better and better work. I'd have to agree with that. While possibly older folks think otherwise.
 
I've got full sleeves and my legs done.

For the most part they don't really hurt, but it depends where you are getting work done on. Armpit and back of the knee sucked.

One tip, make sure you eat something before you go for your appointment and don't get shitfaced the night before(thins your blood).

Also try to pick a design that you can add on to if you want.

Because there is a good chance you'll want to turn that little upper arm piece(or whatever) into a sleeve. Happens all the time, people get hooked.
