Hi

I know of 2 kinds of seo services

one is the kind where they say "we will write 20 articles and submit them to high pr sites, plus 2000 high pr directories. also 200 social bookmarking sites"
the other is "we will get you to page 1"

i think the first one is a lot more common. But I am wondering what is the best practice when writing seo contracts? The first one, a regular person wouldn't understand. They would ask themselves "what good does this do for my site?"
the second one, I dont like because then if they dont get to page 1, they will want their money back.

so I guess the question is, what do you tell clients they are getting in exchange for their money?

If u got real skill u wont come across question like these

Page 1 not guaranteed even if you do hardcore seo in case if failed then as promised return the money back

I tell them exactly what they get. I give them this:

Show your clients this page from Google stating that no one can guarantee rankings. Then explain to them how much traffic they will receive and how many phone calls, emails they can expect this gives them some real numbers to work with, set their expectations then exceed them

No one can guarantee a #1 ranking on Google.Beware of SEOs that claim to guarantee rankings, allege a "special relationship" with Google, or advertise a "priority submit" to Google. There is no priority submit for Google. In fact, the only way to submit a site to Google directly is through our Add URL page or by submitting a Sitemap and you can do this yourself at no cost whatsoever.

I also suggest telling the client exactly what they can expect,if your not confident your can get them on the front page you better tell them before they pay you thinking they are going to get just that because usally people ordering seo services are trying to get on the front page of google as thats where all traffic is.

Before giving any commitment some answers required
1) Types of keywords and their competitors.
2) In Which Search Engine want to be ranked.
3) How Much SEO Resources you have.

ON these bases you can gave any commitment to your client Page 1 or whatever.

I think theseodude stuck at making money from his seo techniques. Don't worry, we will hep you out. All the newbie clients who ever looking to buy a service, will ask you the question "whether your service get my website to #1". You just need to say "It's upto your keyword competition and your website backlink history". But, the members of bhw are well known about this, they will choose the service packages which will help their site. Most commonly the package based service providers won't support onsite seo (You must clearly understand these type of service providers are called linkbuilding service providers/off site seo experts) so they won't guarantee the #1 rankings. If you tend to provide guaranteed rankings then you should concentrate both onsite/offsite, otherwise you won't succeed.

Pick up 10 niches today - low to high competition - do your magic and try to rank them..

If you rank all 10 - Go with your 2nd line

If you dont - Never ever use the 2nd line
