I recently started to realize more and more and that doing full time IM makes you lazier. I have noticed many of us forget that exercising regularly is absolutely vital.

A couple of article to help you understand it better -

    http://blog.bufferapp.com/why-exercising-makes-us-happier

    http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/exercise/HQ01676

So I opened this thread and a poll to gently remind you to exercise regularly. Start doing it today if you are not already doing it. Keep your body healthy and your mind fresh.

I'm sure you can. Just start by walking for 30 minutes every day.

Body building has helped me learn so many valuable life lessons that I've been able to apply to IM. Particularly that results take time and hard work.

    But yeah, I do.

I do some weightlifting at home. Used to go 5-6 times a week to the gym and going to start again soon.

used to back in the day, but not anymore. now the most exercise i get is moving my mouse and lifting 40oz steel reserves to my mouth. if it wasn't for having a good metabolism, i'd look like the guy that cash202 posted.

Not at the moment, but until recently I had been going to the gym most days. I often find it's a pain to get back in to once you've broken the cycle.

Yes, exercising is a part of my daily life. Also, I am doing calisthenics so no weights are needed besides my own body.

I follow a healthy lifestyle, which I believe makes my mind cleaner thus making my IM ventures more profitable.

Many people overlook the fact that health is the thing that makes you feel good, makes you think good and makes you do good! And yes, I do exercise regularly. Let me help you guys with some tips -

    • Keep your alarm clock at a distance. So that you can't just wake up, stop the alarm and sleep again (did that for 5 years!!). When kept at a distant place, you have to walk towards it to turn it off. When you do that, you will find out that you are awake for at least 70%! If that doesn't help, just stop breathing!! Within a few seconds you will be completely awake with an urge to breath :D Worked great for me!

    • Start slow. You can't go to the top of Himalayas within a day! You have to be patient.

    • While exercising, you will think that, "Damn! These are tooo hard! I will stop now! It's not for me!" Come on! You are thinking of your current status? Think of the future! The slim figure, improved strength, and "Feeling Goooood" thing! Always remember, pain is temporary! It won't live forever. But if you stop now, it WILL live forever.

    • Take breaks while sitting in front of the computer. Don't work your #$@ off! Always sit straight. Posture will help you reduce your uncomfortableness for around 70%!

    • Keep a routine. Set weekly goals. 10 push-ups this week, 15 push-ups next week and so on!

    • Be positive, whether you want to lose weight, gain six-pack or whatever you want, never think like - "I am done!". It takes time. You have to keep at it.

    Hope that helps :D

    • Thanks Thanks x 4

Yes, 5 times a week. Nothing better to get your mind on something else after spending a day at the computer.
