Or do you believe you are in control of your own destiny?

Some people say a little bit of luck is needed to make it big.

Is this something that people who haven't made it say?

okay so lets say that luck is opportunity.

then wouldn't you be able to meet opportunities by good awareness and good habbits? everytime someone tries to explain luck to me, i find it derivable to a bunch of factors that aren't luck, but are actions.

im not saying there is no such thing as luck, im just wondering if people have thought about it like i have and would either like to confirm what im saying or clear my misconceptions.
 
Luck isn't proven, it's a thought. You win a million dollars and you may think it's "Luck", but "Luck" is just a word people created that couldn't understand the word "Fate". Now, you can throw the factor in of Karma, the idea that you get what you give, in essence, you do good things, good things happen to you. This I have more confidence in then luck, because luck is exactly that: luck. An un meaningful term that can't be based on anything other then luck, I rather believe that what happens to me is because of Karma (Things that I've done to/for others) or simply because I worked hard to achieve what I have.
 
I think "chance" is a better word. "Chance" that something good will happen to you. Depending on your environment and what situations you put yourself in then you will have more chances.

Recognizing and capitalizing on chance are completely up to us ;)

Nope nothing in the Universe happens by chance. If you believe your a winner the universe will create the situation for you.
If you believe your a loser it will also create that situation for you.

The man with the Golden Voice - that's how world calls him. I still remember the day when his video gone viral and the YouTube is flooded with comments like "someone help him" "give him a job, he really deserves it" and so on...


You can't link the luck with destiny as they're completely different things. You put hard work, will power and concentration and reap the benefits which leads you to your destiny which is built by your thoughts. You're simply developing your thoughts. People who won millions of dollars in the lotto may have that "luck". They indeed made it big and enjoyed some sophisticated life, but look how they're dragged down to rock bottom after a couple of years. It may look like a luck at first, but in hindsight, it's their "bad luck". So yeah, I don't believe you need a bit of luck to make it big. You've to "work" and "keep working" in order to make it big.
 
I don't believe in luck. Luck is for people who don't know what they're doing.
 
Sure I believe in luck, but luck is often just is a matter of perspective.

The guy who bought the last ticket on the Titanic thought he lucked out.

He didn't.

The guy behind him did.
 
I think luck is a term that people invented to make themselves feel better for not trying. "Oh, he is so successful, I could never do that...he is just lucky". They know it's not luck. They know that it takes hard work and that's not something they are willing to do, so they blame it on luck. It just makes them feel better. I know this because I once thought the same way.

Whenever you see a successful person, don't say they are lucky. Instead say, "How can I replicate and do it better?"

I'm not talking about money falling in your hands (lotto) but things that you actually work for.
