Yes...they are helping as long as you mention the link towards your website in the vid's description.
Google will not penalize you for uploading videos daily. On the contrary, if they are good quality, they might help your SEO strategy. Remember to use the appropiate keywords, when creating the title and the description of your video's page.

I don't think it would be smart to create and upload new videos everyday. For one, as somebody already said, most video sites are nofollow, so you wouldn't get any linkjuice. Upload a few quality ones to get some traffic and diversify your link profile, but yeah, don't waste your time creating and uploading videos everyday.

They do not affect your SEO directly. Good keywords, description, and link provide you link diversity. Also, for social media interaction and reputation it is good.

Unique videos, unique images, and unique text is all part of the equation. Would you put a site on top that has stolen images, a thousand times over embedded video, and spun content? I think not.

If your video is a good quality one, it will bring in direct traffic to your site. I don't find a reason for not doing this. I have also heard that adding a video to the content helps to get your page indexed and rank faster. I am not totally sure as I have never been able to successfully do it.

Links from video site's will help diversify your backlinks and protect you from google update's. However, I wouldn't upload on a daily basis, there are other ways to get backlinks as well.

Great part about marketing with videos is that alot of video websites automatically rank good with Google
so if you can get enough views to your video you can gain organic traffic even if you do not help your SEO.
