Do very short Articles hurt now ?

Most of my articles are around 300 words and I'm ranking number 1 for a bunch of long-tail search terms after only 2 months of starting a site!

Ranking signals are not only based on number of words, but whether the content is concise, or whether it's below the fold i.e buried under a ton of ads.

Good, unique content will always rank even if it's a little short on word count.

Always try to maintain the quality and write down that what is needed and useful. Size doesn't matter here.

i couldn't agree more. i always strive more quality over quantity. in the long wrong it matters and makes a huge difference.

Hi fellow! :p
You have a nice question.
Let me tell you if article contains all information about product then it doesn't matter it is a short or long article. Enough information about product is okay.

If you can describe your opinion under 50 words , then there is no problem . But it may increase your bounce rate. But this is not a fact for you i think.

A short article doesn't hurt anyone.
But a very short article really hurt because it doesn't contain complete information that's why it hurts.

Description of the product will always be small, it will not hurt your site, you are already using perfect diversification in article(600 to 2000 words) :)

Just make sure that they are unique and give out some good information! that's all!

I have written articles that are as short as 250 words for sites before, so I do not think that it is an issue.

You know how they say size doesn't matter?

That would not apply in this case.

Your content needs to not only have a convincing vibe to it - it's got to be high quality, efficient and most importantly... LONG.

I don't think so, what are you saying all of you guys? Quantity is also a major factor if you took it closely.

Quality definitely - I replied to this previously, but in my 4 month old site I now have approximately 200+ long-tail searches ranking in the top 10 according to Webmaster tools. All of my articles are 200 - 300 words, but they are focused on a single topic and I look at what searches my visitors are using to find my site and either tweak the original article to add some more keywords or write a new one based on slightly different keywords if I feel there's enough searches for that variation.

Yes, very short article hurt people because it doesn't contain all the information that people need that's why short article hurt people.

short articles google not to consider so much because it will not hike as a comparison to higher
long articles are always consider google because there is much priority consider it will hike on google 20%

You might want to include pictures or some other value in the page

You also should do quite a bit of interlinking

This is a good question. I find for my wordpress woocommerce site my product descriptions are short and I often have the same text body but the first sentence is different to try to buff up my word count. It usually says how to take care of the product, satisfaction gurantee, and delivery area and how it works. Would that be considered duplicate content and hurt my page rankings? I've ran it through Mozpro and Semrush they don't seem to indicate duplicate content, but I don't know how Google interprets that.

I don't think that shorter content length will harm any website quality. The optimal content length is 3.5k to more.

It really depends on your content quality, keyword competition etc.
I usually find 700-1000 words work best but in some cases shorter posts are just fine.

Do you think it is possible to rank in top 10 in Google with a really short article with an EMD (low comp kw)? I'm of course planning on making it more comprehensive but as of now I don't have the time so I just put it up already to get it in the system.
