Is SEO still real or is it fake now

By fake I mean can people still manipulate the SERPs or is it all just predetermined

Yes, it still works, it will always work.
The methods may change but there will always be loopholes to exploit.
It will only end when search engines aren't necessary (with AI this may be sooner rather than later).

SEO still work just fine,
The problem is more about the sellers & fake gurus selling trash services with fake promises (90% of them, probably 99% but well..),
Too much spread misinformation that will make it easier for the overall market of these scammers,
Make your research, take your time learning & a/b testing before investing

I agree with this, No wonder I feel like many blogs about aliens that are telling me for real that AI will kill mankind. Sort like AI will Kill the search engine.

The result page of Google cannot be predetermined unless only Google would provide answers to all the queries being generated. The only thing/issue we have is Google isn't very honest with what they claim to be important or unimportant. If you can stick to the most important aspects, you can get something out of SEO.

I've been out of the game since 2015, where would you begin?
Depends how serious you are about it.

I'd recommend "The Art of SEO" if you are completely serious about SEO.

It's 700+ page book but man is it a strong read.

I haven't personally gotten through the whole thing yet but it does sit on my nightstand and I go through it every so often.

When you see page one dominated by:
reddit
new york times
reddit
facebook
quora
reddit
Israel times
reddit
forbes
reddit

This is pre-determined and small guys will never get in

Maybe you should create a Reddit sub to take advantage of that authority. It's still SEO. A lot of folks are doing it.

I have, hence I am here. I grew a community on there to 450,000 people and then the admin took it off me and now mod it themselves.

dominating? the website is getting 5M+- monthly traffic,
about 30% for the brand search,
you've probably mentioned the wrong one ;)
and you've repeated reddit 5 times, hmmmm
I think you're taking my point too seriously and honestly Reddit appearing 5 times isn't even that uncommon.

Still doing the same and more features are added as well, because of search engine updates

Reddit admin took over your sub? That's some abuse of power and position. Reddit has always been known to be a place where mods and admin abuse their positions. Was your account banned? Or they just forcefully took your sub from you.

They just took it, it's actually quite a common thing since they IPO'd.

Wow! That's criminal in my books.
They do it under the guise of the sub being unmoderated.

What they really meant was unless I sat there 24/7 and moderated it then they would take it, I was on that sub every evening for 4-5 hours and still they took it and said it wasn't enough.

So now I want to build a thing I control 100%, no more silly platforms.

SEO is definitely real! While you can’t just trick the system anymore, it’s all about playing smart. I don't think the SERPs are predetermined, but the better your strategy and quality, the higher you’ll rank!

Also, good luck with that bro! ;) I'm rooting for you!
