From what I’ve seen on a couple of newer sites, internal linking actually helped more than I expected. Once I started linking related posts together, some pages got indexed faster and a few even moved up a bit.


Of course it’s not a magic fix, especially if the site has no authority yet, but it definitely helps Google understand the structure better. At least that’s what I noticed while testing it.

Helps even on new sites improves crawling + structure. Not enough alone, but definitely makes a difference.

The first thing is having a great content silo ! Internal links can increase your crawl budget like hell so don't forget to do it right (don't try to spam)

yeah, it does help, even on new sites. it’s less about authority and more about helping google understand your pages and how they connect. i’ve seen pages move just from fixing internal links. it won’t replace backlinks later, but early on it makes a difference. just keep it simple, link relevant pages and use natural anchors.
 
In my case it did help a bit, especially for new pages getting crawled faster and a slight boost in rankings, but it’s not a magic fix without good content
