Do I need local listings to split test local seo dummy sites?

What I want to try is to build two test sites with my city and a lower competition service keyword in them. I want to give them content and optimization based on the moz and the radical mustache blogs mentioned in this section.

Then my plan is to test some linking services from t0mmy's serp logic and one other place. Once I see what works I want to apply this to my PPC business site. I've never seriously attempted local seo(only "big" seo), so I want to be careful and patient. (Most of my results have been more just having basic on page done correctly.)

How long will results take to see, and how much will it matter if these two dummy sites don't have local listings?

Alright, sorry to bump, but I'm going to go ahead and try without a local address for these two sites. I'll let them chill for 1 month, then I'll see what some linking services can do. Then the more effective service will promote my bus site.
 
Give them at least 4-6 month for a try. First results will probably appear within around 3 months if done properly. You can see some boost earlier, but then ranking decrease and more smooth growth over time.

Thank you. Ok I'll be patient and see what happens. :)

I thought it would take less time, since I thought local SEO was 10X easier than SEO in the general SERPS...
 
very easy.(( local seo is as hard as full broad seo ))only easy when you no how.

lookup the top 5 local seo website in your nic h but local .

know get scrapebox and scrape the top websites collect all there backlinks and only keep the heigh da ones and low spam score links.(( do not keep any sex websites or stupid Chinese garbage links )(

know take note of the seo needed for you to out win the comp , do the article or articles and images and video , beat there internal link numbers, do a site map , legal and terms ,

all the above needs to beat all the top 5 websites.(( even if not submitted in your mind))

add the domain via a domain indexing service .

once that done add the backlinks from scrapebox.

know to socails

remember with backlinks 50/50 do follow and no follow.

only the start know start promotting the website in depth, blog promotting , image promotting.

then comment socail blasting .

ect

when you fill the fingers are falling off
then buy services but only then .

Wow thank you very much for sharing this all with me. Sorry I have one question...

By add the backlinks from scrapebox, what do you mean exactly? (blog comment, buy link, guest post, etc.)
