Do Google Ads now require a $300 payment? Why is that?

The initial "warm-up" spend went fine, and no upfront payment was required then.

When the actual ads went live, a $20 prepayment was required, which was acceptable.
However, starting last week, a prompt asking for a $300 prepayment pops up every time the ads start generating impressions. Is this reasonable?

i just create one yesterday just 10$ , what country you choose ? i think if you created multiple accounts maybe they linked !!!!!!!!!!
 
I use separate Google accounts, each paired with a unique IP address and the AdsPower antidetect browser, and each has its own dedicated payment profile.
During the warm-up phase, I ran ads—using both video and search formats—featuring my own copyright-free YouTube videos of landscapes. Throughout the registration and the seven-day warm-up period, I didn't encounter any issues with upfront payment charges.
On the eighth day, I launched my actual ads, and a $20 upfront charge appeared. Fine, I paid the $20.
But on the ninth day, as soon as my ads started generating impressions, a $300 upfront charge popped up... Did I do something wrong?:weep:
 
You can check whether your account settings are set to manual payments or automatic payments.

Up until last week, this VCC was working normally—requiring a prepayment of at most $20 before running ads—but since last week, I’ve been seeing a large number of $300 prepayment requirements. I tried using several different BINs, but the result was the same. Is this a Google bug, a recent update, or am I doing something wrong?

Was your account created less than 30 days ago?
 
Please tell me, did you find a solution? My accounts are 45+ days old, but I still get a request for a $300 payment.
 
Honestly $300 feels a bit too much compared to the previous $20 i think there might be some change in their payment system or account limit so it’s better to check the reason before making such a big prepayment.
 
Yikes that's brutal.. hopefully it's not an ongoing thing. I'd try creating in a different country.

i think a $300 prepayment is quite high compared to the previous $20 and i would suggest checking why the payment requirement changed before continuing.

google is fighting against threshold abusers so they force new accounts into prepayment. you just have to pay the 300 to prove you are a legit advertiser... its needed man..
 
What's your IP location? I think it's better to work with agencies if it's white hat, they are accepting $10 for the start
 
$300 prepayment usually means google flagged your account as high risk. could be linked accounts, suspicious payment history or just the niche your running. from my experience tho, around 20% of accounts get this prepayment request, its pretty normal honestly. just create a fresh one with a diffrent card and clean setup if you dont want to deal with it.
