Do Freelance Writers Accept $1.5 For 500-Words Article?

I've watched many YouTube videos recommending article writing as a lucrative job, and that I can earn like $5 per article.

I got a client and submitted two articles for which he's willing to pay $1.5/500 words. I didn't negotiate the rate before writing the first two articles, I just wanted to give him a sample based on his keywords, and hence I am not aware of the rates before I start working.

Though I am not a native, I expected $3 per article since I’ll spend up to one hour writing the article.

Is it normal these days for such a rate?

If that's the expected rate based on my writing, I don't mind because I am looking for some work and article writing seems to be my best option.

Please share sources where I can get enough work to keep myself busy with decent pay.

Let me paste a paragraph as a sample so that you can judge the quality of my writing;

$1.5 for 500 words article is way too cheap (hard to tell the quality of your work by reading 1 paragraph) for a professional writer.
$5/500 words would be a standard.
You could start a BST right here when you are elegible (100 posts - 2 months old account - JrVip subscription + BST fees).
There are plenty of potential clients in the forum if you do a good job.

u might think that u can write 1k words in an hour, but for some keywords, you will really need to do some research

In that case, one should not have fixed cost.
 
Some people who are in desperate need of money may write at that price. The services involving AI writing, spun & rewritten content, and custom spinners may accept such a low price.
 
It looks copied or spun article by the quality being poor overall you can find article writers for that price if you target like third world country people or people desperate for money but in general finding someone willing to do 500 word article for $6 is fairly rare and the quality will often be poor to not the best in most cases.
 
The short answer is no, and if you do find someone willing to work for that rate, I can imagine how the article's quality is going to look like.
 
That's slavery
Most writers who charge $3/100w now use AI to ramp up the content production.

I am looking forward to launching a BST here as you recommend, I hope it works since I've seen a lot of posts offering the services. Thanks for the advice.

Even I am looking for a rate a little bit higher. If that's the only option at the moment, I'll have to go with it because it's better than doing nothing.

I don't use any tool, I research and type the articles. Of course, I want to find a way to make some money.

I write only 500-words in one hour or a little less than that.
 
If you buy wnat 5 00 atircle words for 140$$ then yuo can axpect togetacontent like this mabye becuz not good worth value cash cash good luck dear.

In other words, it's probably going to cause more trouble than it resolves. Sometimes there's truth to the ol' "you get what you pay for" adage.
 
When I worked as a copywriter, I was paid not for the number of words and for the number of characters. But the minimum was 8-9k characters.
 
At $3+- per article I’d expect nothing but auto generated content in bulk. You should charge more even if you’re not native.
 
Experience, they say, is the best teacher.
Use this as a stepping stone to the next kevel.
