I am just starting a jewelry website for women in mid-to-late teens through late twenties. I am not quite ready to open but when I do, I wonder how customers will find me. This kind of store would not thrive on SEO unless I had some kind of unique product. I am interested in advertising but here's the thing, I have NEVER clicked on an ad before, and I worry that advertising on facebook would be useless.

How many people will really click an ad on facebook?

as far as I know, it depends on what you put in the interest column and some other factors. This is your first time right? Perhaps you should try to use coupon for fb ads so you can get the hang of it and less tossing money around.

Well I love me some coupons XD. Have any sources for them?

Facebook ads are only good for getting likes to your Facebook page. I run an ecommerce site like you, and there is absolutely no way I can make the ads profitable directly. I think the only way you can really use them is if you build a list, or somehow manage to be profitable on the backend.

If there are people actually making money with FB ads, I'd love to hear how. I suppose people are doing it with CPA offers, but I almost can't believe it's possible to do by selling products.

Well getting likes to the FB page isn't terrible if I can get real likes, so I can advertise the jewelry that way. Really all I need are a lot of REAL true likes on Facebook/Twitter and I'm sure I could make money. I really think my business is going to have to be social/word of mouth. SEO will not help me here so... I need the best way to get in front of people.

Yeah definitely, real likes are great. Facebook is kind of stupid though, since only about 5-10% of your likes will see your FB posts, but it's still possible to make it work.

So you're doing jewelry? I know of a guy doing jewelry and they market pretty much exclusively with FB and are really making a lot of money. So it's definitely possible.

Are you making the jewelry yourself?

It depend of your niche, for me, don't works.
But I know people that win money with facebook.

I haven't seen anybody having lot of success with FB ads. Why don't you try adwords? You will be able to target exact traffic you want on your site.

FB marketing works for fan pages, then you can post about jewelry and in some posts, post about your products.

I do have a question for the FB experts tho, generally how many real likes can one get if he spends $100 on advertising?

I used social lead fox to get a list of 20k facebook ids to advertise to, and I only want to target women from that, so I think it's fairly targeted. The issue for me really is. Will they actually click it.

I agree too, few months back my buddy tried this out for a month and ended up getting a huge jump in fb likes. Nothing much more so he dropped it. It's possible some folks do actually make money from it, but i've personally never heard of anyone so far making $ from fb ads.

In fun,Fashion and Politics you will get more then 1 lac likes after spending 200-300$ per month with 10$ a day. But If you want some high results quickly then you need to try high CPC.

From what I understand about Facebook is people don't want to leave facebook. So if you do create an add you have to create an app. To do this you need to have SSL installed on your site. Then you need to create a landing page. Once you have the landing page you can create the app. Once the app is created you can get the direct url of the app and have the Facebook ad run directly off the app url. Which is called a canvas page (not canvas url). htps://apps.facebook.com/example. Then you can run ads on Facebook from the canvas page but I would highly suggest running the lowest bid possible. So if Fb says recommended bid is $1.00 you go with $0.25 for a full month. I only do this with freebies incentive cpa and my max bid is only $0.05.

Good luck, pm me if you need help.

Facebook ads are very effective... It helps in branding and get more clients...

I think it depends on market or country. I always heard people from my where I came from get $100/day or even more. They only selling physical stuff. Sometimes they promotes ebook or affiliate product and sometimes they promotes their services.

The success or failure of the ads depends on what you're advertising. That applies to everything.

I sell FB ads to my customers works well if you need to target by age, gender, location i sell bing and adwords and bing works the best for all my customers and its dirt cheap compared to Google, however Google has much more search so they all have their pros and cons, just get a voucher and try it out then you will know for sure. I have a few customers in the wedding sector like flowers, rings, planning etc, facebook workls well for them, they get enquirers i know this for sure, because i forward the enquirers onto the client. Tried it with lots of tradesmen and didn't work very well for them.

facebook ads are great . but depends on what type of products you have . :)
jewelry is getting more popular now . i'll suggest you to setup an official page for you website and use facebook ads

fb ads not just only for seeking a likes..you can make a lot of money with it..i'm not with cpa..i use fb ads to sell my phsycal products..(a dropshipping business)..and i' m not using a website..just fb page.

how much i make per month?well i can said it's totaly 2k/month.plus i combine it with sms marketing(any one can do this if they have a great script or sms template also a tool..just download MSM and sms monkey in google play if you prefer to do sms marketing).

conclusion is fb ads not just for cpa.

Undoubtedly Facebook ads will bring you real & targeted likes, that means your business is interacting with real people which will make profit for you.

I also own a E-commerce site. There is another method I am doing for my business. I hired a guy who own 4-5 local Facebook page consist of local people. The guy promote my product to his pages couple of times a day. This is also bringing me clients. I am not sure about your country but you can contact some guy over your country.

Thanks
