Do digital nomads pay tax?

I'm making good money right now, good money.

I obviously don't want to be paying tax on this. Socialism is theft.

I am not location dependant and I like to travel.

I'm thinking of being a digital nomad for the next 5+ years, never touching down in my home country during this period and hoarding all my money.

When I have enough to buy a house and do my thing and settle down I return, tax free.

Is this how it works?

Would likely depend on where your bank account is located.

If you got the coins open a business in one of those tax free countries and keep all your finances there while you travel.

If you're serious about this, you should talk to a lawyer about this as laws are different in every country.
 
If you are a US citizen, yo are suppose to pay taxes even if you make it remotely. You can move to the phillipines or some place that is tax exempt though.

Either way, requires you to move in order to get a new citizenship
 
Yeah I will talk to a laywer probably but was wondering if anyone knew this is just an idea
 
You have to pay taxes, unless your citizenship don't force you to do it...

Tax is about government, not socialism nor capitalism... ;)
 
The rule is : if you earn money, you pay taxes that's all

If you're not a citizen of any country anymore, aka nomad, then you don't have to pay taxes anywhere either. You will of course also not have any benefits such as health insurances etc. If you wanna keep benefits or citizenship to a country then you'll have to pay taxes
 
Despite all the joke answers this is an interesting question I've been wondering about. I believe the short answer is you pay tax where your business is registered. So if you're operating on your own as a citizen of any country then you have to pay tax in your own country no matter what. If you incorporate in some country with very low corporate tax then you get to pay very low, sometimes none. Drawback is you can't transfer that money to yourself and use it personally, but I'm sure there's some clever accountants out there who can get around that legally. It seems like a massive pain setting up all of this so your income needs to be pretty high for it to be worth it.

You could just factor in taxation into the price of the services and/or products you are offering.

You will have to find a place that has zero taxes or low enough rate that you are willing to deal with. Not only register the company there but have the company managed and operated from that country. The nation's personal tax rates could also change in the time you setup and building up wealth in the companies bank accounts and the time you disburse to yourself after residing for the minimum tax residency length.
 
I tried to escape taxes by creating a company in another country. My company pay less taxes, but I do not.

Unless you renounce to your citizenship (the right to come back home, the ambassy protection, social protections, etc) you have to pay taxes.

The answer to that is to pay yourself in shares. The taxes on companies shares is much lower

Give up your nationality. Be a citizen and live in socialism countries like china or vietnam or north korea for few years.

Let’s see if we can have another old ham.
