Do buying likes help

So I have been doing some tests with buying likes or impressions/reach.

I have tried 3 times where I will post, buy some likes and then see the type of engagement I get. For reference the account has 1000~ followers.

Test 1

Buy 1000 likes over 12 hours
Reach: 6000 | 5300~ from hashtags
Likes: ~1500
Comments: 60~

Test 2

Buy 200 likes over 1 hour
Reach: 5500 | 4700~ from hashtags
Likes: 600~
Comments: 50~

Test 3

Buy 100 likes over 1 hour
Reach: 3900~ | 4000~ from hashtags
Likes: 411~
Comments: 60~

Test 4
Buy 0 likes
Reach: 1200~ | 700~ from hashtags
Likes: 200~
Comments: 30~

From my tests, my current guess would be:
  • Velocity of initial likes after posting is most important (we can see that 1000 likes over 12 hours did not perform much better than 200 over 1 hour. (Subtract the fake likes and it's around the same).
  • More comments on posts with fake likes (from actual followers) - so this tells me that fake likes "helps" instagram show your post to your followers
So my question is what's the sweet spot of fake likes that help "boost" a post after posting. Or is my sample size too small to know for sure? Each of the posts were different content but around the same quality.

I believe fake likes don't carry too much weight since they all have low "trust scores". But for a smaller account, maybe even the small weight of fake likes is strong enough to push the content into top of small/medium hashtags for improved reach?

Each of those 3 tests with fake likes reached top post in around 1/2 the hashtags I used, and gained 20-40~ new followers each.

As far as growing your profile, is there any reason not to boost all the content you post with fake likes then?

It is not expensive for a few hundred likes for each post to get it started. Obviously not too many likes as it should look organic.

But if an account has healthy engagement from real followers, this would help increase growth rate and reach to new customers. So what's the downside?
 
Really helps with growth but if the content isn’t as engaging it won’t be much help. I’ve done it before and if the content is good you can followers from it

Thanks, those are my thoughts. I think the content is pretty engaging for the niche (around 50% engagement with followers), so being able to reach new people would be good.

What would you say is a good # of fake likes to do per post? Any idea of ratio to followers? Maybe 10%? 20%?

I really don’t know tbh. But if you want to know how many like your account should be getting on average I use igaudit.io
 
Not, it doesn't. Try to grow up your page normally by using proper hashtags.

And good content not just random photos. If you can have a theme or aesthetic to your page that helps as well.

But it might work in the case he's trying to do some shilling work. Anyhow now depends on what kind of niche he is into.

Yeah it possible, actually I think it comes with subscribing!
 
I only try to grow up page normally by inviting accounts' friends.
 
Buying fake likes will do nothing for engagement. It will only boost the appearance of your posts. Buying real likes from active accounts are more likely to engage if you have good content.

How is it even possible to buy real likes? By definition, if the like is real it means it was made on purpose by a real Instagram user..

Buying likes it's just for online recognition
 
I would say don't buy them even though some methods of using them can help a little. You'll get too dependent on them.

I would go with as little as possible to still see the difference. From your experiments i would say 100-200 likes is a sweetsport, but i would not go over 10% of the usual likes per photo.
And as your account grows bigger, there's no need for fake likes anymore, the audience will quickly tell you what's engaging and what's not.

Not for engagements but for more reach - for small account I noticed that your followers may not be all active at the same time to be able to push your content even if it's very good quality. So I was testing whether real follower + fake like can add additional boost to visibility. The end goal is to be able to show it to real people more quickly.

I will try 100 again and see. The organic engagement from followers is pretty good at the moment but I feel with a small account it's slow to grow since it's difficult to get visibility to more people.
 
The main goal is to get on top of the explore pages. When your on the explorer pages your being seen (impressions) from potentially thousands of other accounts. If you are using high quality and relevant unique content you can bet that will get even more engagement and naturally receive more followers. Do this over the progression of a month I don't see why you couldn't naturally bring in 1,000 followers a month.

I have only had success reaching the explore page with powerlikes. To this day I am still able too. Quality over quantity is key. Powerlike can give you that.
