Do Aussies Really Buy Crocodile Insurance?

I was wondering if Crocodiles are really that prolific in Australia?
Why would people need to buy crocodile insurance?
Do they come into your yards and eat your poodle or something?

I think I would absolutely love visiting Australia, even if it is a 34 hour plane ride from South East USA.
