Do Aussies Really Buy Crocodile Insurance?

I heard something on the news today as I was walking by the TV that stated, Australians can buy crocodile insurance for $10.00. This was supposed to be relevant to Obama visiting Australia and his security.

I was wondering if Crocodiles are really that prolific in Australia?
Why would people need to buy crocodile insurance?
Do they come into your yards and eat your poodle or something?

I think I would absolutely love visiting Australia, even if it is a 34 hour plane ride from South East USA.
