a lot of people recommend me to write many articles and post them on ezinearticles and directories like this with baclkinks to my site
are they still effective enough?

Yes they are, It is important that you have link diversity but the most important are social signals now, check the post blog.searchmetrics . com/us/2012/06/07/us-and-uk-seo-ranking-factors-2012/

yeah social sites are now important in 2012... try to get more FB likes, G+ and Twitter Followers or Tweets. For the article directories i think Ezine is sufficient.. i didn't try others like Goarticles, Articlebase etc..

There not as good as they used to be but still good to create them. Regards to Ezine they got hit by Panda/Penguin pretty bad so I wouldnt say there as good as they used to be.

Get them with a much "personal behaviour" as possible, if buying 100K likes on fivver then your page is deindex quicly

Being someone on the other end of this (I operate several article directory based sites in various niches), I would say absolutely YES!

Here's the thing though, look for article sites/directories that use and even feature social sharing buttons and tools on their article pages. What I saw with my own sites as Panda/Penguin hit many directories like eZine and such, is my sites climbed in SERPs and traffic while tons of others were falling.

The biggest difference between my sites and all those hundreds or thousands of other article sites which lost rankings...on my sites social sharing is heavily featured. Authors who signup to my sites are given information on how to utilize and promote social sharing in their own social circles with the welcome emails they receive, as well as a shorter reminder in the "Your article has been approved" emails they get.

I pushed the use of social sharing on my article sites all along because it was good for traffic for me (it's nice having marketers out there promoting pages on my sites :-) lol

But now it's become a major factor for SEO too, so article sites/directories that have and promote social sharing features were positioned to come out of the latest Big-G changes in good shape, and I'd say are definately worth posting your content to.

On the flip side though (and bad for us cheap, quick link hitters) is that article sites which auto-approve articles or will approve low quality articles have been hammered, even if they had social sharing features. So, you kind of have to look for article sites that have social sharing and some minimal quality standards if you want any real juice from it.

Just my $0.02 and hope it's helpful.

thx guys for ur comments
so if so many directories were hit by panda
which ones would u recommend to use NOW?

Is it possible that we write one unique article and post it to around 200 article directories? I tried it but only 5 directories accepted my 100% plagiarized article :s any suggestions?

As usual the answer is not black and white. It certainly doesn't work as well as an SEO tactic as it used to. Panda devalued most if not all article marketing directories, so consequently they don't rank as well and for fewer keywords. Most SEO firms will tell you that guest posting is the new article marketing and to not bother with article marketing at all. But is Article Marketing completely dead? No, depending on your competition and your keyword it's still an easy way to get some exact match anchor text links to your site, and for some narrow niches that can be enough. It's certainly better than buying links.

Dear all, What i feel you need link diversity if you really not want to get hitted by google updates so using them is not a bad options.

Ya ezine articles will me much worthy,, but while submitting directories make sure that you are diversifying your links

LOL social signals this and that, it is a load of bollocks.

Yes they do; but they certainly don't hold as much weight as what they used too. They're still good for diversifying your link profile though.

Directories still work... I wouldn't recommend ezinearticles tho, instead use some smaller directories

Assuming you are posting 100% original, high quality articles on these sites and then getting high quality backlinks (as in link wheel) pointing to those pages, you should do fine. This is true for whatever article directory you are using.

Actually not enough but still effective along with other type of backlinks

It's best not to focus on pleasing google cause you'll be burned out with all of their culling, changes, censorship, etc. This is nothing new but for every keyword-rich article you create, place one on your site first (which has rss feed) and then a week later distribute spun content across social media networks, article directories, and if you have a forum poster, submit there too, time permitting. Use TBS for spinning if you can. Content will always be king but using tools to distribute it will make your work effortless. Happy New Year.
