Displaying Post updated date in posts

Hi,
I was wondering whether I can display "last updated date" in blog posts? Will it be useful from SEO point of view since it will be treated that site was updated recently with new content?

Or should I stick to first published date?

I am not sure in terms of SEO. But, SEs should notice your content is updated compared to the last version they did crawl/index. EDIT: and they will take action based on the updated content.

Whether you display the " last updated date" or not its up to you. But, I don't think mentioning the last updated date in the article will reflect in SEO.

Thanks for the plugin, I figured it out how to display the updated post date in Genesis theme.
I was just wondering will it be useful to display updated date in terms of SEO

Depends on you niche.

If you are posting current events content, then the date might be relevant. If you try to post more evergreen content, then you shouldn't even consider it.
