So I think I've pretty much watched just about every single relevant Youtube video on FB ads, and wanted to start a friendly discussion about one of the topics that's debated a lot - whether to simply keep increasing the daily budget of one ad set in order to scale it, or create multiple duplicates of it.

Personally, I haven't started actually using FB ads yet so I don't have any experience but from what I have learned from others I think I like the sound of just increasing the budget of a single ad set rather than try and create a whole bunch of them. For example, starting at $5-10 and then increasing it by $5 every few days until it gets to around $30-40 and once its at that level, increasing by 20% every few days until it dies.

How do you guys like to scale your ads?

I'd like this to be a FRIENDLY discussion just talking about each others experiences/preferences with each method and the pros and cons of both, not a "my way or no way" kind of thing. So keep it civil!

I'm not an expert, I just dabble, but I'd think the increasing budget would be better (assuming the ad is good). From what I've read, high levels of engagement drive the overall CPC down for an ad, so by duplicating it, you're forcing each one to start from 0. I'd imagine that would mean a higher CPC overall. I'm curious to see what others have to say.

I always thought the same thing. It seems logical that duplicating an ad would be less effective since each one would have to go through optimization all over again. But then again, FB doesn't exactly run on logical rules so that's why I wanted to get a discussion going to see other's points of views from their experience.
