direct traffict to affiliate through ppc

Hi all,

I'm sure this question has been asked.. but i just cant find it.

Could someone explain me the correct procedure for the following:

I've applied for an affiliate program. I'm running ppc campaign on content networks and i use my affiliate link as a destination url / landing page. How do i redirect properly so my affiliate manager will not notice that i'm sending traffic through ppc?

Find an article or something relating to your affiliate, make a free blog, and just paste the article there with an idiotproof link to the affiliate.

OR (dont know how affiliate managers feel about this)

Use a linkbucks link. I'm pretty sure the affiliate manager will have no way to trace it back, and you'll get re-imbursed a little bit for the click you get.

thanks for your reply. but i just want to know how to mask and redirect the destination url in my ppc ad properly. i don't want to drive traffic to any blog. linkbucks pays very very little, not worth it.

Ya blank referrer is no good and lots are skeptical of ppc advertisers due to the widespread practice of bidding on company trademarked terms. Might be best to at least throw up a site (perhaps coupon) and set the referrer to a certain ad space that's displayed.

Hi, I'll tell you what I do to get around this issue.

I have an intermediate "link laundering" website where I send all traffic that I then want to forward to a merchant.

So, my process is as follows

Traffic source goes to my link laundering website with a unique identifier in the querystring e.g.

Code:

http://www.linklaundering.com/redirector.php?id=1

Each ID is associated with the link of the merchant I want to forward to (?id=1 in the example above).

In the redirector.php file I retrieve the link associated with the ID in the querystring from a database and then redirect to the merchant.

The merchant sees a referer from a website (Perhaps linklaundering.com is not the best name

) but you get the idea and I can hide my traffic.

I think your method sounds the best. Because i'm a newbie (as my title suggests) i'm not too sure how to implement it.

id=1 tells my redirector to direct the traffict to amazon. This is how i interpret it. Correct me if i'm wrong.

My question is then, what is the actual redirector that does all that? or you may be able to suggest me a software or plugin for (e.g.) wordpress. Free software or plugin of course.

Well, I use [SHAMELESSPLUG]The software in my signature which does this and much, much more[/SHAMELESSPLUG] but as far as a freebie version goes I am not too sure what's available.

It would not be too hard to create something much more basic in php /mysql to handle the simple redirection scenario.

I just visited the linkbucks site and was wondering how would someone double metafresh using a link from linkbucks site to direct to an affiliate program of your choice and recieve some money from the click?

Hi friend, well what works for me is to cloak the affiliate link using 'offto' or the like, or even use a .info to redirect the cloaked link, for me, sofar so good, good luck!
