im looking to runs google ads, twitter ads ect, im at the stage of choosing a proxy provider but im wondering what the difference is between proxy types and which would benefit my usecase more, any recommendations or pointers would be great

Residential proxies are hosted on real devices that are connected to the internet. This means that your IP address will be from a real residential address, which can give you a higher level of anonymity. However, residential proxies are more expensive than shared proxies.

I see, yes i was litrally just reading about residential proxys, is there a way to test the IP to see if its flagged ect? Im new to buying proxys but im pressuming they get resold often?

Socks5 is a protocol. You can get residential proxies in socks5 too. To check if it is residential or not, connect the proxy and check the ip details from a site like ipinfo.io. Different objects like asn, company, privacy etc should show as “ISP” instead of “hosting” or “business” or “VPN” and so on.

Great thank you bro, very helpful! I guess its a case of now finding a reliable source for residential proxys, would you recommend using socks5? I havent used it in around 10 years from the old darkweb days so very rusty on knowledge

There are several protocols when it comes to proxies. The top three protocols are HTTP, HTTPS and Socks. Socks is slowest proxy protocol, but the most secure as compared to HTTP & HTTPS. Both residential and mobile proxies use Socks protocol.
