My cat would run away like I was a monster
, and my dog only liked my cousin. Did I do something wrong, or were they just plotting against me? Anyone else’s pets act like this?
Haha, that actually makes a lot of sense. He probably bribed them with snacks while I was out here trying to earn love for free. No wonder they chose him every time.your cousin was probably sneaking them treats behind your back
I don't know about dogs. It's common with cats, they avoid contacts. My cat would run away like I was a monster, and my dog only liked my cousin. Did I do something wrong, or were they just plotting against me? Anyone else’s pets act like this?
lol this is the strategy I would use if I was your cousinHaha, that actually makes a lot of sense. He probably bribed them with snacks while I was out here trying to earn love for free. No wonder they chose him every time.![]()
Yeah, that actually explains a lot. I definitely made the mistake of trying too hard with the cat. No treats, no patience, just pure desperationI don't know about dogs. It's common with cats, they avoid contacts.
But to win a cat.
Treats, give them space and more treats.
Also each cat is different. Some cats don't like to be touched, while some cats (dog-cats) are very clingy.
They are curious, the more space you give them. They suddenly want to come and headbutt your leg and rub their scent onto you.
We have over 30+ cats around the house and outside in the garden. All strays, rescued or abandoned. Each cat has a different personality.
LOL fair enough, that’s a solid strategy. I can’t even be mad anymore, I respect the hustlelol this is the strategy I would use if I was your cousin![]()
That’s a fair point. Looking back, it was probably more confusion than hate on their side. I just like to blame my younger self because it makes the story funnierNo—pets don’t feel hate like humans do; what seems like dislike is usually stress or misunderstanding.
Haha true, treats fix everything. I guess I was trying the “love and hugs” method for free and it totally failedyou need to give them more treats. no money no honey
Haha, that makes sense! I was taking it way too personally. Clearly, my cousin just leveled up in the treat gameThey're not plotting, just opportunists! lol
Usually it's not personal, pets often bond with who feeds or plays with them most consistently. Your dog liking your cousin might just mean your cousin has better treats or more playful energy![]()
This + let's face the truth: Some cats have a cunty behaviour, no matter if premium whiskas or not =)Happens a lot, some animals just pick their people and ignore the rest lol
Yeah, I get that now. I was just overthinking it as a personal rejection, turns out I just need to step up my treat and play gameIt’s rarely personal; pets usually attach to whoever feeds or plays with them most.
Haha, exactly! I was the unlucky one they “ignored by default”Happens a lot, some animals just pick their people and ignore the rest lol
Haha, so true! Some cats just come with that “attitude included” setting, no matter how many treats you throw at themThis + let's face the truth: Some cats have a cunty behaviour, no matter if premium whiskas or not =)
Don’t worry, you didn’t do anything wrong… unless you forgot to pay them in treats. That’s always their loophole)My cat would run away like I was a monster, and my dog only liked my cousin. Did I do something wrong, or were they just plotting against me? Anyone else’s pets act like this?
Women same, but somehow men think that throwing all the responsibility on us (ie zero fun) is the way to go, then they wonder why we don't give a fuck. It’s rarely personal; pets usually attach to whoever feeds or plays with them most.
Haha, that’s probably it. I missed the treat payments and they instantly found a loopholeDon’t worry, you didn’t do anything wrong… unless you forgot to pay them in treats. That’s always their loophole)
Honestly, that’s a fair comparison. If everything turns into responsibility and zero fun, the connection dies. Effort, balance, and actually enjoying time together matter way more than just dumping duties and expecting interest.Women same, but somehow men think that throwing all the responsibility on us (ie zero fun) is the way to go, then they wonder why we don't give a fuck.
Yeah, true. Sometimes there’s no deep reason at all. Pets just do weird stuff and we try to overthink it like it’s personalThey don’t. Pets just act weird sometimes.
Haha no, pets don’t hate us. They just act like they do sometimesMy cat would run away like I was a monster, and my dog only liked my cousin. Did I do something wrong, or were they just plotting against me? Anyone else’s pets act like this?
