I created a second Facebook profile for myself a couple days ago. I used the same name too. The goal is to eventually use it to run ads. However someone is telling me I should not have used my same name from my original profile. Is it that big a deal though? Two people could have the same name technically lol and don't they ask for ID verification evnetually anyways? I fee like I used my ID on my other account though so idk if that would even be useful again.

Same name isn’t the problem having two personal profiles can be. Facebook only allows one per person, and this often gets flagged when running ads. Using one profile with a Business Manager is the safer option.
 
If you only want to run ads, buy a pre-made profile from providers in the community. Pre-made profiles from providers are more stable and less likely to be banned than new profiles.

yes 1 profile is ideal. but i don't have that luxury since my original profile and anything attached is entirely restricted from ads

can you expand? what do you mean pre-made? aged? do you mean like pre-warmed ad accounts with spending history or something?

i've purchased facebook profiles before (not for ads) and they always end up getting logged out or something after a while
 
Using the same name for a second Facebook account isn't prohibited, as many people share the same name in real life. However, Facebook doesn't allow multiple personal accounts, so the risk isn't in the account name itself, but in identity duplication (device, IP address, behavior, verification).
If the first account uses real ID verification, the new account will have more difficulty passing the verification step when asked again. For advertising purposes, a safer approach is to use Business Manager, add advertising accounts, or grant permissions, instead of creating additional personal profiles.
 
Using the same name is fine. There are countless accounts with the same full name, but I think it's best if you change to a different name. You can come up with your own name; it doesn't have to be your real name.

Having the same name isn't a problem at all, bro. But the purpose of creating a second new account will be an issue if you're using it to run ads on Facebook.

Unlike creating a second account just for extra personal use on social media, running ads requires a much higher level of trust from the account. There's a high chance you'll run into a lot of problems with ad accounts created from that FB profile
 
using the same real name isn't the main issue, facebook evaluates accounts based on history, behavior, and overall trustworthiness. the problem is a brand-new profile with minimal social signals that intends to run ads early, which is very likely to be classified as high risk. you should let that profile run naturally for a while or use a bm or page with an established history first

Accounts created by the same person, on the same device, with the same IP address, and used for advertising purposes pose a risk to your new account.
 
To safely run ads across multiple accounts, you should create different names instead of using the same one. While it's not a huge problem, if you have the choice, it's still better to use a different name.

Yes, it will definitely get blocked. The system is strict.

You heading for a blockage as that account will most likely get blocked
You can safe it by having a different id set for verification when they ask for it
 
Using your real name or a nickname isn't as important as building a good activity history. A new profile that starts running ads immediately is very likely to get suspended due to a lack of trustworthiness. The best approach is to let the account 'rest' and interact naturally for a while, or utilize Business Managers/Pages with a clean history to minimize the risk of being flagged for unusual activity.
 
It would be very easy for it to be blocked by the same person, on the same device, with the same IP address.
 
I would say that the chances of getting banned are almost 99.99999% Seriously that is not a serious approach man. Always use different fingerprints.
