Did i pay too much?

Well if you live close by to him and you could easily afford a grand, well why not.

He said he was going to built links etc, and had to offer a few articles to him so he could backlink on that. So i think that's right. The problem i had was that i didn't hear from him for a long time, and I have to find the contact.

As I can read here, i see that IF HE DELIVERS it is not too much money, so that's good.

I will wait and see what happens.

At my point of view it's okay, if the guy delivers what he says. 5$ a day is 150$-155$ a month, so yes it is fair.

The point why i'm doubting about him, is that I don't hear much from him. Only when I ask about how things going, and then sometimes I have to wait a week before he responds. So i'm a little bit nervous about it.

That's your gut instinct right there, and when you're as new as you are, that's the only thing you can rely on.Good thing you didn't give him all the money though.

The fact that he doesn't respond to your messages speaks volumes. If I'd given someone 500 bucks I'd be all over him like flies on shit.I hope I'm wrong and it all works out for you.If it doesn't,consider it a costly lesson.

Next time, learn as much as possible about the in's and out's of the trade before you make such a rash decision.Read, read and read some more. When you've got the basic concepts down, take educated action.

Hope all works out for you,

Just one thing which I can suggest is to buy a site which is earning $300 a month. You can get it at $1000-1500. Be sure that the income is legitimate.

Thanks everyone for the help!

I will keep you guys informed when i got more information :)!

So today Google has updated the Pagerank. Got no PR4, or something. Stayed on PR3.

What should I do? Keep waiting? Maybe it takes a while for Google to update the PR of my site?

Why do you care about PR? He's probably giving you fake pagerank that will one day be taken away from you in a G update.

We need more info. But yes, I'd say you got suckered. Especially given your own gut feeling about the matter.

Possibility: He'll have taken your $500, spent $100 on here in services, and then will be laughing all the way to the bank.

Well the issue I see is paying all of it without some results first.
A 50/50 Pay half receive half method works good and make both
parties committed.

Good Luck

Thanks for your replay :)

Well, I just wanted to see if it will make any difference of having done nothing in SEO, and having a high PR, or focussing on meta, content etc in the organic results.

I think I'm suckered too, but the weird thing is I got him on LinkedIn, has really great recommendations, has a few companies and he knows where he is talking about + he showed me how he built his sites, and how they are so high on Google organic. I really don't know what to do.

You might be worrying over nothing to be honest. Don't stress, $500 isn't the end of the world.

My concern would be that he knows you're a noob when it comes to SEO, and has overcharged you.

Are you familiar with keyword analysis? Part of the concept of putting actual value on keywords based on their local searches/global searches?

Hmm, what would be a normal price for getting a high PR 7? Only for the PR, not for scoring on keywords, only PR.

I know he knows about SEO and PR, but the problem with him is that I can't contact him when I want, and I see no results. As now, I don't see my website getting a higher PR, something he promised.

I know about keyword analysis. I was a content writer for a few websites of his, and when the sites were built, I saw them getting higher and higher on Google, even with high competition keywords, his sites are getting in the top 10 of organic results, when they're only month old.

Don't know what to do, I'm texting him now, but I don't get anything back.

So got scammed.

PR update today, not for my website. Didn't hear from that guy agin :(.
