Did i made a massive mistake?

Exactly one year ago i started my journey in IM. I watched some tutorial and follow along everything that guy did.
So i used hosting that he used and i stick with it. That hosting uses addon domains for easier cpanel.
I bought domain (got it for free) via that hosting and 3 more domains via namecheap and used it like addon domains.
So every bit of data was on that server for my domains.

That main domain expired.

Now, when i want to use another hosting it requires me to use auth code for migration. But one thing bothers me. I need to extend my domain via that first hosting but second hosting will pay for that extension of license.

What do i do now?

Do i pay that first hosting for domain registration so i can migrate all my files to another server or wait second hosting to deal with that problems?

One site has ads, but it isnt only source of revenue.
Too put things in perspective, i am afraid that i lost all my files of my websites.

Was the site getting a lot of traffic?

Barely minimal.
But it has some sentimental value for me (first time doing those things etc)

I did. Do I just give new hosting those files?
I found out new problem. That domain is locked on first hosting. How do i unlock it without paying for it first because new hosting said they will pay if for me.

Since they said they will, try to contact their support. Yes if you have the file you just need to upload it to new hosting
Make sure it's complete backup

Before my hosting expired i used plugin all-in migration and i think it all migrated. I did that for all my pages.
Support of first hosting is very bad. They want me to stay with them

Well if you get barely minimum traffic why you complicate so much ? Just start a new website from scratch
