How much damage would an OCR with a human-comparable success rate do to the Indian economy? Something that can solve captchas at a drastically cheaper rate than human decaptcha services? We're talking $.25-50 per thousand solved as opposed to $1-2. What would be the effect on the world economy? How quickly would Google (the creators of the "unbreakable" reCaptcha) implement an alternative?
Just curious as to people's thoughts on this, and whether or not an OCR that "beat" reCaptcha would be a beneficial influence on the world economy. The topic arose in an intellectual discussion today and I'm interested in BHW's thoughts on the issue.
