I need to design a simple landing page....... What's the best and easiest way to do it myself?
and I don't know much about web designing besides HTML coding and some basic CSS.

Good news is that HTML and CSS is all you need for a great landing page, aside from some php for mailing.

I mean, the easiest way is to lay out your page and then define and design it, you know, not much to it...But I think you're looking for another kind of answer.

Any reason why buying one is a no-go?

If you're not looking to be a Graphic Artist, I would just buy a Landing Page Artist. Especially since your Landing Page is the most important part of the site.

find a good wp theme and customize it. Works like a charm for me

Wordpress theme with landing page emphases should help you with that one.

I am in the same boat as you. I don't know much about web designing, so I gave up
I just stuck to building sites in Wordpress

I used to think WordPress was a last resort, but in reality it is an awesome site building software. I wouldn't say that using WordPress is giving up, just using another option.

You can simply Google for free landing pages for Wordpress (recommended) or free Themes for Wordpress then simply choose the one that you like most and that needs the least amount of editing,
then just change/add the text and images, its all html - very basic.

To design a good landing page, start with your Logo and a nice header with images and form and then add content and related info below with images and text content placed nicely..

Anyone knows where i can find some good landing page examples? I want to start doing content locking but have no idea what good landing page should look like.

Try to find someone else's landing page in your niche. Then copy their HTML and tweak it.

Great application for designing websites without knowing the code.
Just drag and drop your content and easily design your site.
Even you can design Design your site for mobile and tablet sites too.

Themforest has some really good landing page templates that you could fill in if you know basic HTML/CSS

Try studiopress themes, really good on lps; also optimisepress can do the job.

Find free landing pages / squeeze pages templates in google.
Sometimes ugly landing pages convert better than professional and good looking.

Know your audience, then keeping it in mind try to find sites that your audience like and trust, examine their landing pages.
