The Library of Alexandria burnt down again

"Investigators have copied all the information from the servers Demonoid and sealed them," an anonymous ColoCall source confirmed. "Some equipment was not seized, but now it does not work, and we were forced to terminate the agreement with the site."

This is a sad day for humanity. There was A LOT of EDUCATIONAL material on Demonoid.

It is *possible* they'll be back. There aren't many details in that article.

How to know that this source is authentic and not someone that put this just to cause confusing among the uncertainty of the events?

What these people that are trying to shutdown these sites, dont understand is that there's no turn back to piracy. If demonoid got at its end of the line, there is a schedule to dozens of it to appear in the next months.

Might be true and I suspect the authorities perpetrated the DDoS themselves showing the extent they're willing to go to take down their enemies. Demonoid was priceless.

Now demonoid is gone. WTF....
There is no internet freedom these days. Authorites doing DDOS to take down demonoid. This is plain blackmailing...

Aww i'm very sad to see this happen Demonoid was always my favorite. Seems like its happening to all of them now though

A friend of mine saw the FCC warning almost as soon as it went down saying the site was seized but I didn't want to say anything because by the time I looked the servers were offline.

I don't think there was ever a DDOS. I'm not even sure what Demonoid was thinking moving to a ph domain. I was excited when I heard they were moving to Russia or Georgia I think it was after the Canada fiasco. I'm not sure what happened in the RU but bringing that stuff back into the reach of the USA was asinine. Money talks in the USA and the MPAA and RIAA have a ton of it to speak real damn loud.

It will be back up at some point in the future.

This was also hosted in the ukraine, which while close in proximity to russia is not as bullet proof.

did overgrow have backups...

Btjunkie going off was pretty bad, shutting down a private tracker is too much. The Pirate bay are planning to have their servers fly in low-orbit drones so they would be out of anyone's jurisdiction. It gets to me a little, seeing little so recoil after Btjunkie got down.

Well, It is sad but I always liked pirate bay more. Piratebay is by far my favorite. Also they have a badass video on this shit right on the their homepage.

Sucks. I liked demonoid, hope they come back.

There were things on demonoid that you couldn't find else where. Things priceless. This makes me mad, very mad. For me demonoid was the best of all.
