Too many times we all saw someone's quote but not the original post.

This means that the original poster violated the rules. His post was reported and deleted by mod later.

In the meanwhile, someone quoted that post and replied something.

What is bad about this is that deleted post remains visible in that quote.

Often this is not a promotion, but a very BH unethical type of method such is carding, and other ideas.

I just wanted to point this out. Ideal solution would be an empty quote, so we can still see the commentator name, and be aware that he attempted something 'illegal'.

If you that please hit the report button for the post that quoted the deleted post.

I have seen quotes getting edited before. Report the quoted post if you think it needs to be deleted/edited, that should get the job done without a problem.

Edit, damn BTB is too quick. :P

Yeah guys, I was aware that I can report quotes but I do believe this can be automated and it should.

But then goes: It's too hard, complex, could damage other forum functions? I refuse to believe that.

It's possible, and it should be done, even if takes years to complete. That's it, keep reporting, I'll too.

as its just a post deletion, i doubt they would put
yrs into a small feature resolved via a simple
report and delete

@Diamond Damien and or @Jammie Dodger will have a look I am sure to see if the implementation process/energy/expense makes sense relative to the manpower to clean things up.

Good idea though as we do a fair amount of clean up for that particular issue.
