Deepseek is taking the world by storm. The reasoning is because they are saying it only took a few million dollars and a year to build.

This is bad because OpenAI currently spends billions and has thousands of more employees.

I think DeepSeek's numbers are completely BS.

China did this to manipulate the U.S. stock market and caused half a trillion loss.

Anyone else think their numbers are fake?

have to be stupid to think that their number is true. China likes to bend the truth a lot in its favor.

It's not manipulated. They simply can't reveal their H100 cluster, because they would admit that they circumvented US export controls to China. It's pretty much an open secret by now.
Nice discount on the Nasdaq though.

Last days deepseek started giving errors on responding...too many people started using it, but somehow its better than chatgpt. Atleast in my case where i do alot of python and php programming on my scripts and programs daily. It responds better with less errors close to none for my needs. If I were to chose from chatgpt and deepseek i would choose deepseek.

Looking at the numbers it's almost unbelievable but not impossible.
Still have to give this a go later today.

Deepseek going to be in deepshit when 2 years down line, it's found to by spying for China.

There are no circumventions. I am from China.
The real reason behind it is the talents, they hired a lot of top universities talents, Docs, post-docs, all from top 5 in our country. Btw, you should know one thing, the 10 tech members who founded Openai, among them 4 are Chinese.

The model is 50 more effiency than Openai, you hear it right. How they achieve this?

If you want to learn more technical details, please read the best detailed article:

I will say it otherwise.

Not long time ago.. running file hosting business was costing x10 the amount that you need today.

I know, that you know what I mean.

With that said, the Chinese claims are more true than fake.

And finally is time to stop underestimating China .

(As a matter of fact , those who underestimate China have never been in China)

I believe it's true but this is cost china style. AKA copy other for the heavy lifting, spend only 6mill for optimization and improving. All those tech they have now they don't spend a single $ discovering it. Even baidu use google tech technology.

looking forward to the new rollouts of open ai, lol they really got push for chatgpt 5 now! lol As usual cheap labour puts they operating costs of everyone else up, as they try to build better. America should release its own Chinese speaking ai engine. lol Would it be as freely available for business and consumers in China as deep seek is in the west now?

anyway it gives "Oops! DeepSeek is experiencing high traffic at the moment. Please check back in a little while." since last 5 hours I am trying to use. seems overwhelming response!
DeepSeek facing massive DDOS attacks. Wall Street is nervous ...

I'm really interested in reading the security audit that supports these claims.
