DeepSeek's startup costs

Deepseek humiliated western tech companies. Only need 5% of the resources to run, you can use it from your pc locally. Its open source, what more you need?

While the numbers seem extraordinary, its been reported by sources like Forbes and Wired. However, independent verification of these claims would give a clear picture

I agree with you, and it sounds very interesting. If they manage to achieve this in such a short time, the outcomes could truly be unpredictable
 
China has demonstrated that they consistently deliver superior apps and technology compared to the West, often at more affordable prices. While the $$$ numbers they mention may not be accurate, but still, who cares..
 
Could be they are lying about how must they spend and is because usa is being trying keep the tech crown but is falling and china want to take, they know where to hit, let's see how it works and is in some way better or at least good as gpt.

Even our in-house AI is smarter than GPT 4 for the tasks that is trained to do.


This isn't the first time the West has misled investors about production costs for personal gain. Just look at how Tesla's prices changed once China revealed the true cost.


Is like supporting the claims of some USA hosting providers that the hosting requirements for hosting single wordpress site with 5 posts and 10 visits costs 30$mo while in reality is less than 10$

I'm a business men, I care about two things : cost & efficiency, whether it came from China or the f**** Vanuatu.

could be, chinese work efficient and at the fraction of the cost in the west. thats why almost all companies have shit produced in china.
also about bending the truth mhm not like the U.S. wouldnt bend the truth in their favor all the time lol i.e. blaming china for spying and hacking, while they do the same, but they are quick at pointing fingers while china just shuts up even if the NSA is hacking their companies left and right for years...
 
It's been over 24hrs and yet api platform is not up. Seems they are not having enough infrastructure to support demand which eventually result in increased cost

<You can utilize Deepseek via API on other platforms. I'm currently using it at https://fireworks.ai/, and the speed is quite impressive.
 
Just think of it this way....

You get that Armani jacket made in uk or usa for £250 or $200, get it made in China for $15.
