Well what jen said was basically true, i don't drink and ride much. Perhaps after a beer or 2 i will but certainly not over the limit. Not because i could give a fuck about the law but because what you stated designer. It can get pretty hairy on the road on a good day. And i have been hit by 3 cars in my 18 years of riding and don't enjoy it that much.
I much prefer to ride stoned.
But where i come from Australia and the people i hang out with certainly don't abide by the straight edge you refer to. So far from it in fact its laughable. But they are not your blokes next door either.
Different people different places etc etc.

Only meaning when we ride.

Of course we still drink and party depends where we are and when. If we are riding we don't drink.

- My buddy got crunched up a little over 1 year ago. Bad driver hit him on the highway. Lucky to be a live. Shattered pelvis and crushed bones left him with metal plates. He's F'd for life.

So, the last thing I would do is impair my ability while riding. If I am going out to drink and party - Then I am going to get a buzz or get shitty.

I make sure I leave a bottle next to the bed, so I can easily rehydrate if I wake up during the night. If worst comes to worst, any liquid will do. But thirst quenchers have a nice balance of sugar and salt that helps everything absorb better. Give it a shot...you'll be happy you did in the morning.

I actually do the opposite, I drink 1-2 gatorades before going out to drink. It makes me last longer and if I work it right, I get to drink alot and not have a hangover, but yes, if I still feel dehydrated I drink more gatorade before I go to bed.

Yeah agreed, usually makes it go right away.

Drinking is the devils work (good on him!) but here are a couple of tips from a guy who once got drunk on 13 pints of scumpy (unrefined strong apple cider).

No one is ever going to believe this but this was part of my job training I worked for small brewery 13 pubs at the time and you had to have a pint in every one (torture) they were all over London some of you might of heard of the Firkin pubs?

It's not the beer that makes you feel like shi* the next day but all the chemicals in it. So never mix grain and grape and stick to natural brews.

Drink two pints of water or any sports drink before bed and buy a bottle of aerobic oxygen to put a few drops in it (google if not sure what it is )

If you can't afford that remember Red Bull gives you wings but don't go flying when your smashed or stoned!
