Dead links - Is it better to remove them?

Hi guys,

I am using NightWatch to track backlinks to my site. I have 137 backlinks in total. But 10-15 of those links are marked as "Link Dead".

Is it better for the ranking of the site to remove those dead links?

how can a backlink be dead? Was it a real backlink one day and the site’s owner removed it?
 
You can have the replacement for those dead links

If you have access to remove that link, it Will be good if cant deleted but make sure those link are 100% dead/bad link
 
Would be best to delete them during the long run. Don't delete them all at once. Be gentle with them.
 
if that's an internal link you would have forgotten to change the link after renaming or moving the webpage to else where.
in case of an external link, it might take time to fix.
it's not necessary to remove them.
 
How can you remove a dead link?
Dead link = a link which has been removed. You can't remove something that doesn't exist.
 
I mean links marked as Dead in Night Watch. Some sites are that have linked to my site before is no longer available. Should I use the Google disavow tool for that? Is that better or should I leave it as it is?
 
Always try to build quality relevant back links its not about number of back links that you need to the site, its just 10-15 links not an issue i suggest but get a replacement from where you brought them.
 
Dread link is also called as Broken link. Dead link is a hyperlink on a web page that no longer works due to so many factors such 404 error and more.
 
you can just ignore them or tell the owners to replace the backlinks if possible.
 
Dead link is a link which has been removed. You can't remove something that doesn't exist.
 
Dead Links are bad that they can make a bad user experience. Dead Links impacts in negative ranking, which affects in terms of SEO.
 
Please see attached screenshot. It shows what I am talking about. I have a lot of "dead links" and "not present". This is from Nightwatch backlink tracking.

Is it better to remove them or leave it?

You should always delete them. Pointing links to sites that do not exist is very harmful for your website.
 
We cant remove the Dead Links ! Sorry if the Links get Sammy , then we can use google webmaster tools to disavow it !
