I've been reading a lot on CTR and dwell time and how it can effect rankings etc. I was just wondering how many of you believe it's a factor?
I'm asking because I'm in a very competitive industry where bounce rates can be very high and dwell times can be very low depending on what they are looking for. If nothing is there they disappear and look at the next ranking in the google results. Visitors can scan the page in 10 seconds and be gone.
I've seen countless times my sites ranking well for 2 weeks and getting lots of traffic, then all of a sudden it's gone and the ranking is 100+. No purchased links to the url either. It's not a news term or trending subject either.
I've checked lots of factors and putting it down to bounces and low dwell time.
Am I crazy or would people agree it can be a big factor in certain industries? Has anyone else seen this or suspect it?
Thank you for your time, once again.
