Try DOGE to catch some practice its in up down trend right now. On Poloniex

DGB is doing good too, but its currently closer to the 24hr high be careful it might bite you.

Do you think it is a good idea to trade short term investments, and keeping the 50percent of the profits as long term investment

I personally prefer short term investments. However XRP is indeed one to hold for the long term in my opinion its been in the news alot and mostly good news I might add. (Check Ripple twitter profile for updates) The Ripple (XRP) has alot of events schedule for this month which should see its value increase.

Another for long term investment is ETC im keeping a close eye on this one for sure!

When a coin is closer to the 24Hr High it is more likely that the value will soon hit a down trend.(Pump and Dump) which will put you in the red (loss) and obviously your goal is stay in green (profit) so its best to invest when market value takes dip but is likely to rise again.

Another advice is to get familiar with trading terms and slangs such as "shoulders and head " Moon" Choo train" Etc.... so if you read something online or see a convo between traders you can fully understand the meaning of whats being explained.

@Honoutenshi Is it necessary to leave what you bought for days? No not at all you have the option to buy and sell freely but I suggest you sell at a profit once you get around 5-10% added to the value of what you bought coin for.

You can start by doin some short trades to get a hang of what trading crypto is all about. The best technique to know when a coin will rise is if you see news article about coin getting partnership / investment from other well known companies and also if the prices are higher on one exchange than another.
