I've noticed the members have credits.
What are the credits used for and how do we use them?

That thread did not give much info. May be later I will work it out or it may be revealed to everyone at some point.

I would really like to know, because I have alot of it! I have a strong feeling it can be exchanged for VIP membership, something like post 2 host forum/hosting. Im not sure though!

VIP membership would be great and so would Entrepreneur membership.

Yeah, agree. It would be quite a motivation for earning credits

I agree they should be used for something, however a large portion of users here have bogus credit, for bogus post......


Actually I have a question for the admin...How is it that a member that just joined in Nov, and has only 20 or so posts have over 300+ credits? I think I dont understand the credit system too well, or it doesnt make sense

Just follow the link from the third post here up, and read that thread; that probably will reveal a bit more about which actions are rewarded with credits.

By the way, if you like the credit system, just scroll down the page till the bottom and click on the link vBCredits.

arts- that was the description of the ability of the upgrade package. That doesnt specifically say how they are being used here

this is not an official announcement, but is from what i observed and know:

The credits are mainly gained according to the number of posts/ the size of posts you make.
-It started taking place only recently, so when you see new members having as much credits as old members it means that in the last period of time, they have posted approximately the same, because the credits did not take into account previous posts.
-the credits are NOT used for VIP membership, it is quite obvious than the VIP membership will be a hand picked selection, not a program made one
-i guess that Dave wants to implement the credits system in order to manage access to the downloads area, but i am not sure
