Creating Smaller Niche Sites

So I have a main site, pretty big drawing a decent amount from social media. However I was thinking of a few "sub" keywords and researching them, and I have found that those keywords seem to really favor sites with the keyword in the domain. Would it be a good idea to just buy another domain that has the keywords, rank it up via my main site, same content as my main site as well? Maybe buy some authority links from here too?

Will the dup content hurt me on the smaller site?

Anyone? Would I be better off trying to rank a sub part (maybe even domain of my site) vs a new domain (keyword included) using the same content as the main site?

John X Factor was a fan of that in 2008 or so.

I probably would not go in that direction myself but I bet there is some thing to be said for operating like that.

Think its better to just group/segment that content off in my main site, and link/build up links to that instead? IE keep the same domain, no subdomain etc.. and just try to rank it up with that content I mean...

I would have to think that it would not be the best bet to go in that direction.

That is what I would be doing... find a bunch of related KWs/topics and build off of your main site and creating a large site that has the foundation of a lot of content.

This is the best way!!! It will be ways easier to rank for these keywords and ur domain will become more and more an authority

I would say make content a part of your main website. Then build links to those pages and work on building traffic to those pages through social media.

Building smaller niche sites still works, but I wouldn't use the same content. You'll have a better chance of ranking with high quality unique content.

Do you write your own content? If you are too busy, then hire someone to do it for you. A lot of times you can get cheap content that is still pretty decent.

It will be better for you that don't buy another domain. Optimize on your main site it will give you benefit.
