To get started with driving traffic to your site unless you have the budget for PPC, I'd start with social media, posting in relevant forums and commenting on blogs. Sure SEO can be good traffic, but it's taking longer to rank these days, and all of your efforts can be wiped out in an update. There's some good threads on here about building up a following on Twitter, Pinterest, Tumblr etc. so that you're not tweeting to yourself :-) For driving traffic from forums, there's a good thread by meathead1234 title easy-100-day-perfect-noobs (sorry I can't post links). The best option for driving traffic will also depend on your niche and where your target audience hang out online.
 
Have you do keyword research? Before starting the link building, you need to do it then creating content in your website.
 
If you want to earn more with past created sites then use White Hat SEO techniques for this. If that websites have designing and developing issues then you can easily get solutions online.
