    Hi all

New member here, but been a lurker for a while before finally signing up!

I've created a few sites in the past, earnt small £$ etc but nothing that good in terms of genuine traffic

I was wondering if anyone can help me with what methods to do to make my site visible to Google and the world?

I've seen subtle hints of PR, Link Building, SEO SEO SEO (you get the idea lol) and so on but to my eyes it seems like a minefield of fiverr style posts that offer these services that apparently make your site more popular etc.

I was wondering if anyone could help me with the direction, without trying to sell me anything.

I know building sites aren't a quick thing, but with all of the selling going on I cant quite decipher what work is actually needed and what isn't.

The trouble with my sites is lack of appearance to the world, i haven't made on in a while but i've tried the whole social media thing and unless you've got followers, fans etc you are tweeting to yourself I've found!!

Hope someone can shed some information on this

    Thanks for reading :)

To get started with driving traffic to your site unless you have the budget for PPC, I'd start with social media, posting in relevant forums and commenting on blogs. Sure SEO can be good traffic, but it's taking longer to rank these days, and all of your efforts can be wiped out in an update. There's some good threads on here about building up a following on Twitter, Pinterest, Tumblr etc. so that you're not tweeting to yourself :) For driving traffic from forums, there's a good thread by meathead1234 title easy-100-day-perfect-noobs (sorry I can't post links). The best option for driving traffic will also depend on your niche and where your target audience hang out online.

Have you do keyword research? Before starting the link building, you need to do it then creating content in your website.

If you want to earn more with past created sites then use White Hat SEO techniques for this. If that websites have designing and developing issues then you can easily get solutions online.
