Creating A 4G / 5G Rotating Proxy

Hey, I've been doing a bit of digging and I'm wondering if anyone has any updated working set up for something like this they'd be willing to share knowledge / information on how to do something like this. I need something like this to work for a project I've been grinding on for a few months now.

I've seen some guides with dongles and using a SIM card, but the posts are old and IDK if they still work. Please PM me if anyone has any information.

Dongle + SIMs works 100%. I could say every tutorial on BHW is still working.

I guess I am wondering what SIM to get and what data plan to get. I've seen AT&T mentioned at one point. Is there a cheap unlimited data plan that doesn't have slow down issues that you know of?

Trying to gather info to get started with this. Is there a model dongle that you've had a good experience with?

Thanks for the comment! I'm trying to work with Reddit personally.

I wonder if you've run into any road blocks with Insta. With Reddit data center proxies weren't good enough and the accounts would get banned if they posted links. Static residential proxies worked but they're too expensive. I need a shitton of IPs and it's not profitable for me to buy individual IPs per Reddit account, thus I'm trying to go the rotating 4G proxy route.

Do you have a Discord or an IM stuff? Would love to talk to you about this.

I'm like 90% there with Reddit, I can create unlimited accounts as long as I have a working proxy. Now I'm working on auto aging the accounts and sending upvotes & comments, almost like becoming an upvote panel but for myself only.

IPRoyal screwed me and their proxies are having all sorts of issues which is getting in the way of progress for my script, thus trying to create my own rotating proxy to save money and have more control.

I am located in Romania, so I have information only about the carrier networks here.

I recommend ZTE MF79U. They are very stable.

Thanks for the information. I'll try to snag that dongle and see if it works for me.

I'm confused about people using Proxidize and iProxy. Are they paying $10 for the software? If so, couldn't you theoretically make it yourself with something like Python and save on the $10 a month?

My understanding so far is I would need $ for a data plan with unlimited data, a SIM card for that data plan, and the dongle. So in total I'm looking at around $30 - $50 as a one time cost for the dongle, and then however much the data plan is monthly. Those would be my costs total if I had a script that does the IP rotation for me automatically without having to rely on Proxidize and iProxy.

Am I correct or is there anything I'm missing?

I cannot recommend any of the services above, because I have not used them. But they are old in the field and you may give a try.

A custom solution may cost much more, and it's not the right approach if you want to have 2-5-10 dongles. It simply doesn't make sense, so you better use an existing solution.

I don't know what are the prices in your country, but a prepaid plan with unlimited bandwidth may cost you $$/mo, at least.

For 1 dongle, I can recommend using https://proxysmart.org/ (they allow using 1 spot/dongle for free), and they have IP auto rotation and other cool stuff.

The free alternative where you can host more than 1 dongle (there is a learning curve, depending on your skills) is https://3proxy.ru/.

You will also need a decent computer, with at least 4k score, according to https://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu_list.php (you may find cheap 2nd hand mini pcs everywhere) I don't recommend the Pi's, so I will not included them here. They are good for EDU things and DIY stuff, but that's all.

That's said, I don't think you can build an one-time-cost of $30-$50 solution.

Here is a short calculation for what funds you need: Pc, dongle, 4g plan, utilities (yes, you have to pay for that too =) ) + your time (you are the only one who knows how much your time is worth).: $100/$200 + $25/$35 + $$ (idk how much it costs for an unlimited bandwidth there per month) + $/$$.

I guess I am just confused what Proxidize/iProxy/Proxy Smart do and why they need to be a part of the set up.

I've found an unlimited data plan for $50 per month with no slow down, so that looks promising.

Thank you for mentioning Proxy Smart, I'll look into them.

As for the PC, I already have a machine with 32GB of RAM and one of the new i9 processors so I should be set with that.

For right now, I'm only going to be using 1 dongle.

My PC is already on 24/7 so utilities isn't going to change much.

Really it looks like the only monthly costs I'll have is the data plan and then the service like iProxy (still super confused about these and what they do/why they're necessary...I couldn't find anyone who could explain them on here when I was digging through topics as per why they're needed.)

I don't expect it to be $50 one time, but $50 per month once I have the hardware. I'm ignoring electricity/utilities because I already have to pay that and have a lot of equipment that's already on like a proxmox server and a NAS.

Thanks for taking the time to answer this, I really appreciate it.

That makes a lot of sense. I can understand why that would be valuable, I mean hell I lost a month+ on this project so far. I may be interested in the service, just to save some sanity so I can focus on trying to figure out the other pieces of the puzzle.

I'm going the route of buying a 4G dongle and hooking it up to a PC. Would it work with that set up or is it just phone-only?
 
3proxy is the core backend to a lot of these solutions such as xproxy or proxysmart. You can pull sample configs off of github such as https://github.com/prescience-data/3proxy-config. Alot of the guides on BHW already includes various ways of incorporating it. Most ip rotations on dongles are api calls. Maybe take your dongle and google api calls to it.

Dongles are specific to location and bands. EU bands are not compatible with USA bands for example. USA dongles are harder to get if you are in the USA. It's difficult to get stable dongles, I've seen many with issues from needing constant reboots to overheating to randomly losing connection and also ip rotations not getting new IPs or long rotation times.

I'm currently using proxysmart with em7455 cat6 dongles. I've used proxidize dongles as well as xproxy xh22, proxidize zte oem dongles would always die and need a reboot power cycle and xh22 were unstable with proxysmart staying connected to carrier.

Testing out phones soon with proxysmart but we'll see. I've heard they leak dns.

We only offer a solution for Android phones (any phone will do, including used and older devices), but there are other companies that work with dongles.
I've personally settled on using phones because they're easier for me, but really, there's no one right answer. Each option has its pros and cons, so pick whatever works best for you and your workflow.

It depends on many aspects, as I said. But for a mf79u (cat 4), the max. speed I got was around 90Mbps. This is what I tested now (crowded area, Friday afternoon).

LE: The test was made for Orange carrier network. Vodafone and Telekom have inferior speeds.
