Crazy theory about Satoshi

So it's the amount of electricity and budget which is not worth the hassle even if someone wants to hack right?
I don't know the exact comparison between launching an enterprise to generate 51% of the total hashing power in the network, and the value of the manipulating the network - but I would assume that:

a) there are countries, banks, institutions that would have the ability to fund an enterprise at this scale.
b) because of that, the value of doing so would logically be less than the cost of doing it, otherwise it would have been done by now.

Also, it would become clear very quickly that a 51% attack on BTC was occurring. The value of BTC would collapse over the space of hours, exchanges would pause their operations immediately, and the attacker would end up stealing a huge amount of valueless digital currency they would never be able to sell.

The only way anyone would actually want to do this is for destructive purposes, not for financial gain.

My IQ dropped 20 points just by reading the thread and comments. Of course the probability is not 0 because we live in a world with quantum mechanics so everything is possible. It's as likely as the theory that you are satoshi yourself but just forgot about it after running against a door.
So now you're at 0?

I'm lazy to quote all of you guys saying there's no way Bitcoin has death switch, because it's open source and everyone can analyze the code, but you are not thinking outside of the box.

What is BTC based on? ECC (Elliptic-curve cryptography).

What is ECC? Basically a bunch of math problems.

What will happen if some math genius finds a shortcut for those math problems?

What if that math genius is Satoshi and he found those shortcuts before even releasing the Bitcoin?

BUT then Satoshi does not even exist until someone comes forward as Satoshi. So without anyone claiming to be Satoshi, then the chances are high that Satoshi = 0 at this moment in time. ?

If you mean Schrödingers Satoshi, it would not mean that satoshi is 0, it means that satoshi is both existing and not existing right now until the event is observed.

I need to start practising my maths skills all over again ,this could be right.

What if Satoshi actually is the banks and we're all slowly being sucked into the next wave of economic slavery?

Yeah its impossible with bitcoin. Some of the closed source cryptos though... shit like that happens all the time

that's actually significantly more likely considering how transparent bitcoin's design is

@VSYNC talking (seriously?) about proofs earth is flat.
@alus1onZ opening such a conspiracy thread with a supporting stance.

You guys are 2 of the 4 users I do follow in this forum.

It’s been fun but... where’s the candid camera?

How will he benefit from the collapse of the economy?

He won't. If this is real (probably isn't) he would just watch the world burn. Some people are not interested in money.

This theory is crazy for sure.

Normally I’d keep playing along, but flat earth is one conspiracy theory I’ve got no time for.. was trolling.

There are plenty of conspiracy theories that are likely to be true however.

Ok, this already brought my chakra back on track.
Please disclaim when you troll.
I would not stand a second stroke like this

There are a huge number of different theories and assumptions, but they all apparently boil down to one thing - the popularization of bitcoin ;)
