CPA Technique - OK or not?

Hey guys,

I've searched around the forum to try to find answers to my questions but couldn't find anything definitive so I'm just going to put it all out there. I'm looking at driving lead generation from a website that I've created. Basically this website gives access to members to a private forum.

However to get access to the forum they require to fill out a survey first.

I wanted to know whether this is a form of 'incentive marketing'? I've seen the term around where some advertisers don't want incentive marketing to drive leads but I wasn't 100% sure if this is related to my question.

And if an advertiser doesn't specify 'No Incentive', do you think this technique would be okay?

It'd be great if someone could please clarify.

Yes, that's incent. Ask your AM if you're not sure whether the offers you want to use to promote with allow for incentivising or not.

Yes, that would be considered incentive marketing. You can cloak your referrer if you want to do incentive marketing so the CPA companies don't know where the leads are coming from -- this is not recommended for new accounts however. There are also a lot of offers that allow incentive traffic -- and some other CPA companies dedicated completely to content locking (BlamAds as a quick example). Luckily, GOOGLE themselves have just released consumer surveys which are a little less obtrusive and more accepted by Google for SERP's.
