Could I Get Banned?

On Pinterest for mass following? I am currently following 33,000 people.I haven't had any problems yet but I am always scared that it might happen.

I've been seeing a handful of accounts under the News tab that are following 4k+ in a day. They seem to be holding out just fine. Additionally, they're not pinning much, usually under 1000 pins and less than 10 boards. And I don't notice their pins on my home feed. So I dunno how traffic is for them.

It seems as if Pinterest is not yet doing anything about Spam or uncommon behaviour. But I think if the quality of visitors and content on Pinterest get worse and Google is doing something about it (listing it on page 2 or so) they might start implementing scanners to search for abnormalities.

I have 3 accounts that follow 40k ppl. I got a couple accounts banned in the last 3 months but I don't think it's for following tens of thousands of ppl, it's probably because I pinned too much of my own (MFA) stuff...

How many are you following per day?

around 900 per account
but today only 300 so far

Gird yourself SnoopyDrew... Surprised you've survived the algorithmic updates so far. I would scale your following back a bit if I were you.

Adapt and survive. Lower your repins, your likes, comments, follows per hour, follows per day, pins per day... On brand new accounts, don't follow anybody. In fact when you make/buy new accounts best not do anything with them. Wait for a month or two until they age enough.

Long gone are the days of careless Pinterest botting. Plan ahead and execute carefully.

Blocking is an option by groupboard owners. In the recipe niche, there are many owners who forbid other members inviting other users. I suggest soliciting an invite directly from owners themselves and not just other members. An alternative is to create your own groupboards and invite your alt profiles to them. Please warn us if Pinterest is blocking you from your own boards.

I would be cautios with group boards, even if all the profiles in them are controlled by you.

While I'm not sure if that's the real reason, all I know is that 3 ~25k followers accounts were suspended shortly after they started pinning in group boards where they were the only 3 profiles present and pinning. So at best it's circumstantial evidence, but I have a reason to believe it's the only reason why all 3 were suspended almost at the same time and would otherwise still be alive to this day.
1 of those accounts/profiles was mine. I'm still sad a bit over those 25k followers, would add up nicely to 60k I have atm from all my 10 accounts combined :/

The theory behind this is that Pinterest puts more "weight" to reports that happen on group boards. If you get reports on pins you post on your own profile, unless you have a huge number of reports, you're mostly safe. But when you get reported on group board pins, and you're not the creator/owner of the group board, you can pretty much start counting hours until suspension.
