I have no hard data to back this up, but it just seems like websites that rank on the first page often have an ad spot on the top too.
Now the obvious reason is that websites on the first page make more money and thus have money to spend buying Adword spots.
But I wonder if there is another reason, basically, if you "play ball" with Google (spend $$$ on ads) your rankings will increase.
It doesn't make sense because you would think Google wants you to spend ad money and giving higher rankings reduces the need to buy ads.
I'm just looking for thoughts and opinions... thank you!
