Yeah even if you don't do anything with the domain, someone might wanna get in on the trend - then you sell that to them at a not so ridiculous price (depends) as $200k.

Why not price it 500k or 1M?
I can spend 10 mins of my time and register another domain for $6.99.
Then spend that 250k in seo / marketing / ads / ....
We're no longer in the 90s.
 
No one will ever buy this domain for this insane price, even pharma companies... Domain traders know why.
 
By the way...how about registering: coronavirus.host for $99 LOL. Unfortunately Coronavirus.club is registered already
 
After reading this thread, lots of people must have engaged on finding domains that can be sold at high price :D:D:D

The domain is for sale by Uniregistry, they are one of the biggest players in the domain aftermarket. They must have employees watching the news nonstop for these opportunities.
 
This domain was first registered in 2002. You can check the domain registration history with a tool like domaintools.com.
 
Must of you didn't check the domain history first, the domain was not registerd this year, because immediately i heard of the virus. I headed to godaddy but the .com was registered but then the .UK was still available
 
Someone registered okboomer.com and sold it for thousands.

So you could make bank by registering domains of new events/trends but you have to be really quick.

Unfortunately coronavirus.com was registered 18 years ago and novelcoronavirus.com in 2013.

I also opened ncov.com and it redirected to ncov.org which is some church ministry. They could make bank by selling the .com lol.

Sound logic, I also think of Kobe Bryan that currently legend basketball player who suddenly RIP, guess domain related to his name also rank high currently.

huh you mean cornavirus.com this domain already registered many years back or only this year at godaddy?
 
Imagine if they sell it on an lower price point, like around four figure range. They would still make a decent profit from just one domain.
