As you know Corona Virus is trending right now, so I checked http://www.coronavirus.com and it’s not registered.

The (n00b) question is: Why noone bought the domain?
A website with some news/info/articles plus maybe a product to buy like an hygienic mask wouldn’t sell a lot boosted by all the free publicity? (Maybe because it will need to much time to rank?)

Because it's unlikely that by the time you could make a profitable vertical on it (face masks, info, etc.) that the virus will still be a major problem. Even if it is, it is unlikely that you will make enough back with it to recoup your costs.
