Copyright Question

Hello guys! I have a quick question, if anyone could kindly answer.
Suppose someone owns a website that shares copyrighted content (such as movies, game cracks...etc) but does not upload them to his website, meaning he uploads them to another file host such as MediaFire, then shares the MediaFire link on his website. Is that considered copyright violation? Is he by any way vulnerable? (assuming the website is well-known)

even if you don't host copyrighted material, you still promoting it. and the industry + law doesn't like that ;-)

I like the " I have a friend" story. The answer is simple: If you make a lot of money, and they realized it, then expect a law suit. If you don`t then don`t woory about it( but always remove materials if you receive a complaint to be on the safe side). Lot of money= XXX,XXX$ or more/ per month.

Yes, you're aiding visitors in breaking the law. Probably less risky than hosting the files directly yourself, but still not worth it if you ask me (unless you live in a country that ignores these laws).

You will receive a take down request aka dmca from the copyright holder (assuming there is no friend in reality and its you whom who runs the so called site) and if you take it down soon, it wont raise any alarm, or else they will contact your host and get your site deleted or remove it from google search results through parties like chilling-effects. It all depends on where you host the site, what kinda file infringement you done and how accessible you are.

So, suppose you're earning below 6 figures/month, site take-down is the ultimate consequence?
And what if said website is marketing a whole collection of these files, from different sources?
