Copying info and translating it- Bad idea?

Hi,

I'm currently working on some articles for my blog and unsurprisingly, it takes a lot of time (I'm writing all of them by myself and don't copy from other websites).
Since my website isn't in English- What if I actually do copy some articles from english-speaking websites, run them through Google translator, fix the grammar and change the articles a bit (like maybe mix up a few words or include parts from other website). Would Google realize that I copied and punish me?

From what I've heard around that worked in the past, but google caught on. Maybe mixing and matching articles and fixing the translation might be enough, but just straight translation won't
 
You can do this but do not make it exact copy.
It is good if you make some changes in the language of the article.
 
Use Yandex translate. It's free (no paid API keys) and it generates different texts than Google Tranlsate. Also you can copy full-text articles and translate them via Yandex on autopilot (no manual input needed): https://wordpress.org/plugins/cybersyn/
 
You need to change over 50% for Google to consider it new content. Kind of sucks that Google offers translation, then penalizes you for using it... good luck
 
This is a good idea, Google will never punish you rather this work should be appreciated. As you said you are already changing things, so I believe these will work perfectly without any issue.
 
That's DERIVATIVE CONTENT and is covered by international copyright law

Simply translating text from one language to another doesn't strip the owner of the original content of IP (intellectual property) rights
 
It is desirable to change the texts, both for search engines and for people. Content has been of high importance for many years and its quality is really important. So mind it when translating your texts. And yes, Google can detect the original source even iа it is in another language.

Hi, is this your plugin, and if so, do you plan on adding more features to it, similar to WP automatic. (Ability to scrape more sources)
 
I would rewrite if myself. Instead of using the senteces they make and straight up translate it. I would translate it and put things in different orders and make senteces using other words and describing it better. But this is just advice mayne, do whatevaa da fuakk you wonna do mayne!
 
Not a good idea. You need to have good content, other things are only temporary fix

I'm fairly certain the OP's question had zero to do with whether or not it was "ethical", they more or less wanted to know if they could get away with doing that here and there to ease their workload ... (correct me if I'm wrong OP)

You'd better not do it, Google will identify if content is rewritten or of low quality. Invest your time in creating better content, this is my advice.
 
Google has some real trouble understanding certain languages. I guess that's a hint you can follow on ;)
 
Make some content spinning before translating your posts.
