Copying content from physical magazines, is it viable?

I was wondering if anyone is doing this and what are the possible downfalls.

If a magazine has no online version of said articles, I assume there would be no reasonable way for copyright issues to arise. I was also thinking of using foreign magazines in my native language to translate to English, which would make the copyright even less of an issue.

If copying tons of articles with no real focus keyword or SEO, can this still boost up a websites rankings by being 'quality content'?

Is anyone using this method to create content for their websites and how is it working out for you?

Don't copy word by word. Take part of it and rewrite , mix with other contents. You are good to go.

I've built entire websites using books that were not ever online by just writing what was in the book without any changes.

I did it and ranked without any problem, but I gave up as better things came around.

The problem is that most magazines now have websites where they publish more or less the exact content. And in the off chance they dont, other random websites already share ripped pdf versions of most magazines you will find.

Your best bet is to rewrite content in which case there is no point limiting yourself to magazines.

Thanks for the input guys. Yeah sounds like rewriting would be the only way for it to work and would then be useless to limit myself to magazines.

I think I will still give the translating of local magazine articles into English, as I have a near endless supply of such magazines and a very good understanding of both languages. I doubt that counts as blatant plagiarism, but will be checking a few of them through copyscape in case they have done the same thing in reverse lol.

If your goal is long term its good you rewrite these contents....otherwise you can rip the whole mag content and expect the expected...if it ever come

If you're serious about this, your best bet would be to publish content from a) OLD COPIES of b) BANKRUPT magazines

These are the ones with the LEAST incentive and resources to sue your for copyright infringement

The downside? They may have a reason to sue you once your site becomes SUCCESSFUL

The best solution? Buy the digital publication rights of DEAD publishing companies
