We are targetting same keywords. If I copy another title completely, is this going to be harder to rank in Google and considered duplicate? Thanks.

If you copy a title from someone else website, its not duplicate content. But it is possibly going to get you hit with a DMCA if the other site owner sees it since it would be plagirism/copyright infringement.

You can always append | WebSitename to the end of the title to make it unique. However, if your content is unique, I dont think having a dupe title would be an issue.

A title isn't a big deal. The content of the page is where Google flags duplicity. However, the people above are right. It's good practise to change everything. Just don't change the keyword phrase, otherwise you destroy the point of swiping from them!

you are overthinking a very simple thing. just go with something unique and just look at how they are framing their titles and come up with a unique one of your own. i do this everytime

duplicate is a numbers game and since title is such a small percentage of the overall content it will not count as duplicate.
duplicate is a copy and paste of the page, not five words lifted. plus the chances of titles being the same as a result of keyword research and on page seo are very high. don't worry about it.
